We are pleased to introduce our law firm and the details of the services that we render. Adesokan & Adesokan is a Nigerian Law firm offering a full range of personal, corporate and international legal services.
The Law firm of Adesokan & Adesokan was established in 1999 to provide qualitative legal services in several areas of legal practice. The firm is registered pursuant to Section 659 of the companies and Allied Matters Decree (1990) with Registration No. LAZ. 138698 and has since its establishment been active in general soliciting and quality advocacy in the several courts (especially superior courts of record in Nigeria ). Our firm is also registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as Solicitors.

CHIEF PEKUN ADESOKAN LL.B (Hons) B.L,
Chief Pekun Adesokan is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and a Consultant of the firm. He was educated at the University Of Lagos , Lagos , Nigeria where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours in 1968. He also attended the Nigerian Law School , then at Igbosere, Lagos where upon a successful completion of the programme of the Council of Legal Education, he was called to the Nigerian Bar and enrolled at the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1969.
Chief Pekun Adesokan has made extensive contributions to the development of the Law in Nigeria particularly in the area of Commercial Practice where he has acted as Solicitors to many Foreign Investors. He has done research works in this field and is an avid follower of events in the corporate world. He pays a keen attention to developments in Banking, Insolvency, Insurance, General Financing and Admiralty practice and the workings of the systems in these areas.
Chief Adesokan is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. He has remained in legal practice since his call to the Nigerian Bar. He has also been actively involved in the political development of Nigeria having served as a member of the Constituent Assembly that drafted the 1979 Constitution, which has continued to form the basis of successive Constitutions in the Country. He was the Deputy Speaker of the Old Oyo State (incorporating the present Osun State ) from 1979 to 1983. He was also the Commissioner For Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters 1999 – 2001 and Commissioner For Agriculture and Natural Resources 2001 – 2003 both in Oyo State .
He is also on the board of several Companies.
OLUSEGUN ADESOKAN LL.B (Hons) B.L
Mr. Adesokan is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and a partner of the firm. He attended the University of Ibadan , Ibadan , Oyo State , Nigeria where he obtained a Bachelors of Laws degree in 1993.
He also attended the Nigerian Law School , Victoria Island, Lagos where having successfully met the conditions set by the Council of Legal Education and the Body of Benchers he was called to the Nigerian Bar and subsequently enrolled at the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1995.
Mr. Adesokan is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and has remained very active in practice. He cut his tooth in legal practice with the Law Firm of Layonu, Oyeleke & Okwudiafor 1995 – 1996. He thereafter joined the firm of Ejide Sodipo & Company where he engaged extensively in Admiralty practice between 1996 and 1997.
In 1997 he joined the law firm of Balogun & Balogun where he was made Head of Chambers with the responsibility of amongst other things putting the firm on a sound footing. He successfully carried out this mandate and in 1999 established the firm of Adesokan & Adesokan.
Mr. Adesokan has wide and extensive experience in commercial practice and has successfully handled several matters (advocacy and solicitors work) in areas of debt recovery, company take over and winding up, intellectual property rights, real estate (leases, property development, assignment etc) mortgages and debentures, admiralty practice and procedure, capital markets, arbitration and mediation, energy, oil & gas, company secretarial practice and general legal consultancy.
He is currently legal consultant to the Senate Committee on National Planning and the Oyo State House of Assembly.
He is registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to act as Solicitors to all forms of Capital Market Mandates. |
